Food in Singapore: 5 Meals under $5 on Bacon is Magic

Here’s a last piece of writing that I managed to sneak in for 2013 about some quintessentially Singaporean food you can enjoy here on the cheap. It was quite a fun piece to write, and got me thinking quite hard about what foods could be considered Singaporean – essentially, it boiled down to what I would bring my overseas friends out to eat if they were on a budget.

I’ll be quite honest though and admit that I personally only like 4/5 of the foods on that list! Guess which one you won’t normally catch me eating (even though I think it really is representative of Singapore!)?

Thanks to my BlogHouse mentor Ayngelina and her travel food blog Bacon is Magic for inviting me to guest post!

If you want the quintessential Singaporean food experience but have limited time and a tight budget, here is a list of my biased top 5 Singaporean foods you can get for under S$5 (US$4) – trust me when I say that narrowing down this list was HARD because of the myriad of options available, but this is what I would take my guests out to eat for the Singaporean experience.
