As a part-time travel blogger trying to gain some footing in the local travel industry, one of the events I attended last year in a bid to learn more was WITNext Summercamp
, a free 2 day conference organized by the folk of Web In Travel (WIT). It was my first time at any sort of conference back then, so while I talked to a few people, I probably could have made more of an effort to network.
Quite recently I had the chance to meet Siew Hoon, the force behind WIT and she invited me to participate in the first WITNext Evenings
, where they will be gathering a panel of content creators for a discussion on content creation tips as well as some ideas for building careers in the media and content world. But this time I’m not just going to watch, but will actually be one of the panelists myself!
It’s a pretty cool list of people – hopefully I can provide an interesting point of view as the travel blogger representative of the group!
• Luke Clark, Editor, Discovery Channel Magazine
• Steven Lai, Presenter, FirstLook Asia, Channel News Asia
• Jaclynn Seah (me!)
• Koay Yi Ling, Circos Brand Karma
• Turochas Fuad, CEO & Co-founder, Travelmob (I interviewed him before, check it out here
It’s happening this Tuesday 29 April at Ramada & Days Hotel Zhongshan Park from 7-9pm, it’s free, more details here!
WITNext Evenings will be held on a quarterly basis and each evening will have a theme. The purpose is to educate and inspire young talent and tourism professionals to build meaningful and fulfilling careers in travel and tourism. After all, might as well make work fun, right?
Sponsored by INFOR Hospitality, WITNext Evenings are free to those who are genuinely interested in mentoring, sharing and inspiring. Seats are limited so it’s first come first serve.
