I flew up on Singapore Airlines, a direct flight from Singapore to Ngurah Rai airport in Denpasar. Flight time is around 3 hours and Singapore Airlines flies there 4 times daily.
The flight was covered in the FAM trip, but besides full-serviced airline options like SIA and KLM, the budget airlines also fly here very cheaply.
The FAM trip was hosted by Sheraton Kuta Bali, and I had an enjoyable 2-night stay there with a deluxe room. The view from my balcony had some beach but directly faced the shopping mall so it got a little loud sometimes at night. Room rates range from US$150 - US$200+.
I was hosted by Sheraton Bali Kuta, so most of my time was actually spent in the hotel itself. I got to try out their new FnB concepts like the Sunday Market Brunch, Italian food at Bene as well as their surprise Kitchen Table.
I also did a little shopping at the lifestyle mall Beachwalk next door, and alternated between the pool and Kuta Beach.
I hardly left the hotel premises, but when I did, I mostly walked along Popies Lanes and Jalan Legian. The hotel arranged a pick-up and drop-off service from the Ngurah Rai airport, which is just 10-15 mins away from Kuta. Taxis are pretty cheap in Bali, but traffic can be quite a snarl as the roads are narrow and the motorcycles and cars are numerous.
All the great food available at the Sheraton Bali Kuta, and a side cautionary tale about how you should always backup your work when you write online.
It’s rare people go to Bali‘s
district of Kuta looking for a quiet time or for a romantic meal. In
fact, I spent a good hour walking along Jalan Legian and the famous
Popies Lane, unsuccessfully trying to find a restaurant that wasn’t a
burger joint or sports bar; however, the Sheraton Kuta Bali is a great hotel and dining
option for those wondering where to stay in Bali that offers 5-star
treatment alongside the Kuta party lifestyle...
