I’m a total packrat when it comes to my wallet – it has everything I could possibly need in there – various credit cards, ID cards, discount cards, cash, keys, tissue, external thumb drives, tissue, even a tampon… but man does it weigh down my bag!
It’s great for day-to-day life in Singapore, but when I’m travelling, I like to streamline my wallet completely because I’m a little paranoid about losing stuff overseas. All I try to carry when I go abroad are:
- Drivers License (good for ID and car rental/driving purposes)
- 2 Credit Cards (1 stowed away in case of emergency)
- Spare Transitlink card (for SG, just in case)
- 1 Flat thumbdrive (in case of camera emergencies – I’ve lost my camera before but was saved by my photo backup!)
The William Wallet, designed by Kristen Wentreck of the Wintercheck Factory is a great stylish way to keep all your essentials together, while keeping your pockets light. It’s really pretty, the metallic black surface doesn’t scratch easily and goes with everything!
It’s especially great for the men who often ruin great dress pants with bulging pockets… Or ladies who have those really small totes and no pockets in their dresses to stow bulky wallets. Travellers can stash it in coat/jeans pockets unobtrusively and keeping their hands free for maps and take pictures.
Besides travelling, I’ll probably use mine when I head out to the clubs and I don’t want anything on-hand. Dancing on a crowded dancefloor with a sling bag/wristlet? Not particularly glam if you want to get groovy~ And I’m definitely taking it with me on my next trip, whenever that will be!
